Wandering the Backroads of California and Beyond!

This has been an epic year for our family! We sold our home in Houston, travelled across the country to buy a new home in the little town of Camino, CA. Why? This is certainly the question I get from Californians, who say, "You moved from Texas to California, when everyone else is moving from California to Texas?!!" 

Yes, it was quite a major decision. We have lived in Houston for 33 years, near where I went to High School. It was a joy spending time with my family, particularly my parents in their retired years.  But Stephen retired, and we decided to move closer to his family outside of Sacramento. His 93 year old mom has lived with us for a number of years, and it's wonderful having more people involved in our daily lives.

It was sad to be so far away from all my friends and neighbors. But I am excited to begin a new cycle and explore new places to paint! We are surrounded by rivers, lakes, pretty hills and beautiful mountains. Lake Tahoe is just an hour away. So I look forward to learning new venues and wandering new backroads in beautiful California and beyond.
